Assemblies for dual completion
The assemblies for dual completion are used to reduce the water content of well products, reduce the volume of produced water, reduce the linear pressure in the oil pipelines, which contributes to an increase in the flow rates of nearby wells, reduces the cost of water disposal, reduces the cost of reservoir pressure maintenance through injecting produced water in the wells
ALMAZ Oilfield Service is currently developing 4 assembly variants:
- Variant 1 – assembly with separation of two layers located under the ESP.
P, T, V data are transmitted in real time. The lower layer is controlled remotely in online mode.
- Variant 2 – assemblies for dual completion of two layers located above and below the ESP.
P, T, V data are transmitted in real time. The upper layer is controlled remotely in online mode.
- Variant 3 – assemblies for dual completion of two layers located above and below the ESP.
P, T, V data are transmitted in real time. The upper and lower layers are controlled remotely in online mode.
- Variant 4 – assembly with separation and dual completion of two layers located under the ESP.
P, T, V data are transmitted in real time.
Components of dual completion assemblies
- Lower packer of axial action, P-UD series, including with cable sealing;
- Upper packers, PNM(U) series, including with cable sealing;
- Temperature and pressure measurement system with instruments includes cable-type pressure gauges/thermometers, MT-KT series, and electromagnetic flow meters;
- The ground-based ISDK control station for the temperature and pressure measurement system is designed to collect, store and transmit readings from bottom-hole instruments via modem in online mode to the server;
- Communication cable or coil tubing for communication and control of controllers;
- Nozzles, injection valve, mandrel and automated RO controller;
- Software and algorithms for controlling the RO-GP controllers depending on the P, T and V data recorded in real time;
- All assemblies are designed for installation in flow strings 139-178.
- The layouts of variants 1 and 3 can also be installed in flow strings 102 and 114.
Automated production well for dual completion with temperature and pressure measurement system of ALMAZ Oilfield Service
A control station has been developed and tested for the dual completion assembly, taking into account the online PTV data used to switch controllers for alternate operation of layer groups at maximum pressure drawdowns
Assembly functions:
- Complete digitalization of the control process for the operation of the equipment complex based on the accurate determination of the wells flow rate using the BINUS 5-700 system
- Data of all operating parameters (current, voltage, load factor, P, T, V, pump flow rate, etc.) are transmitted in real time.
- The RO-GP hydraulic drive cut-off/control valves are controlled online based on the exact determination of the pump flow rate.
- Software control of the RO-GP controllers opening and closing depending on the pump flow rate and PTV data.
- It is possible to maintain a given pressure drawdown on the layer group by alternately switching the RO-GP controllers when the specified critical values of the pump flow rate and PTV are reached.
- It ensures operation at maximum pressure drawdowns and increases the withdrawal from each layer group in the same way as the conditionally constant conditions technology with the determination of fluid flow rate using the BINUS system.
Possibilities of the dual completion assembly:
- Control the flow rate of reservoir P1 by controller No. 3 and reservoir P2 by controller No. 6 separately online, including for direct sampling for water cut.
- Set the water inflow restriction mode for the watered P1 or P2.
- Operate the layers simultaneously and alternately under the specified bottom hole pressure with constantly determined flow rates for each layer using the BINUS system.
At this automated production well, it is possible to set up an automated mode of switching controllers for bottom hole pressure (flow rate), based on data received via the ESP temperature and pressure measurement system or from other bottom hole instruments.
