Temperature and pressure measurement systems (TMS)

TMS are designed to measure and transmit the current parameters of the electric submersible pump operation in wells for oil production or reservoir pressure maintenance systems to the controller of the control station, namely data depending on the following:

  • reservoir fluid temperature
  • motor oil
  • motor windings
  • reservoir fluid pressure in the ESP suspension area
  • vibration acceleration levels in radial and axial directions
  • insulation resistances of the system: transformer – cable – motor stator winding
  • other options

Features of temperature and pressure measurement systems of Almaz Oilfield Service:

- The temperature and pressure measurement system consists of a submersible unit (TMSP) and an above-ground unit (BN)
- Temperature and pressure measurement systems can be supplied to the customer of the following design versions:
- In terms of the submersible unit size – 81, 100, 103 (mounting to the motors size 117 and 130 through the connection node), as well as size 117 – TMSP for double-sided units (a distinctive feature of double-sided TMS is a shaft for transmitting rotation from the motor to the lower protector).
- In terms of maximum measured pressure of the reservoir fluid:
up to 250, up to 320, up to 400 or up to 600 atm.
- In terms of accuracy of reservoir fluid pressure measurement: basic (TMS-1) and high-precision (TMS-2).
The difference between a high-precision TMS and a basic one is the use of more accurate pressure sensors, the availability of auxiliary means to minimize the drift of parameters over time and to perform a greater number of adjustments and tests.
- In terms of measured temperatures:

  • measurement of motor oil temperature and reservoir fluid temperature, with a minimum allowable error of 1.5%, with a precision of 0.1 °C
  • measurement of motor oil temperature, reservoir fluid temperature and motor winding temperature (in the structure of the identifier "T").


- In terms of operating temperature: TMSP no more than 125 °C, 150 °C or 170 °C.
- In terms of corrosion resistance: basic or corrosion-resistant TMSP (in the structure of the identifier "K") versions
– In terms of design – basic, for double-sided units, for conventional double-sided units with the possibility of connecting geological survey equipment
- At the request of the customer, it is possible to manufacture TMS with support for the new universal exchange TRANSFER protocol. TMSP has connection dimensions unified with domestic manufacturers.
The manufactured TMS have high maintainability, including at any service bases servicing the electric submersible units.
