The delegation of ALMAZ Oilfield Service Trade House visited Ecuador

From June 13 to 17, 2022, a delegation of the ALMAZ Oilfield Service Trade House paid a business visit to the Republic of Ecuador.

As part of the trip program, negotiations were held with the flagship of oil production in the country – the state company PETROECUADOR, the private oil company with state participation Cobra and the consulting company ServiGARLIN (independent consultant on doing business in the oil and gas sector in Ecuador). In total, in addition to the above-mentioned companies, there are 8 more private oil producing companies with state participation in the country. The main suppliers of oil-submersible equipment on the market of the republic: Baker Hughes, Halliburton, Schlumberger, APC – Alkhorayev, NOVOMET. 

"We know that the President of Ecuador recently set a task to increase the total oil production in the country twice. These are very ambitious plans, and our task today is to participate as much as possible in the development of new promising fields in this country. We are considering various work schemes: from opening our own service center to supplying equipment through partners. The potential Customers showed particular interest in our solutions related to the layouts of dual extraction, dual injection, technical detergents, small-size equipment 2A and 3".

At a meeting with the delegation of the ALMAZ Oilfield Service Trade House, the President of PETROECUADOR, Mr. Italo Cedeno spoke about the prospects in connection with the planned increase in production to drill about 500 new wells over the next 10 years. The main interest for the largest oil producer in the republic is a range of services for the lease, maintenance and repair of submersible equipment. In this regard, Mr. Italo Cedeno expressed hope for the prompt opening of the service center by ALMAZ Oilfield Service in his country and the conclusion of a corresponding agreement between it and PETROECUADOR.

The prospects of increasing oil production in Ecuador have led to the plans of the private company Cobra (about 80 wells in operation) to drill about 40-50 new wells annually.

As a result of the meeting with the delegation of the ALMAZ Oilfield Service Trade House, an agreement was reached on the supply of 48-50 sets of oil-submersible equipment and 130 km of cable products annually. Cobra also has 96 sets in stock, which will be sent for repair to the service center of ALMAZ Oilfield Service in case of its prompt opening.      

"No matter how the geopolitical situation develops, Russian equipment is valued in Ecuador as a well-proven optimal solution in terms of price/quality ratio," notes Olga Morozova, Director of the ALMAZ Oilfield Service Trade House. – "Now we are in the process of opening a new branch of the company in the republic, a site has already been selected for the organization of a service center."
